New 8 Megapixel Samsung Pixon camera phone

Hot on the heels of their INNOV8 i8510, Samsung have announced the Pixon M8800 8 megapixel camera, that is only 13.8 mm thick.

The Pixon is a touchscreen phone with a 240 x 400 TFT LCD screen. The camera has a 16x digital zoom and includes auto-focus, face detection as well as geo-tagging, and there is a dedicated photo browser to view and share pictures.

There is only 200MB of internal memory – not great compared with other top spec phones – but you can add more with the micro SD card – upto 16GB, which should allow for lots of pictures.

The Pixon is expected in the UK from 1 November.

The expected specifications are:
